China wins Olympic berth in shooting World Cup
The 2019 FIFA World Cup (Beijing) ended its second match day at the Beijing Shooting Range on April 24. China's Zhao Zhonghao won a bronze medal in the men's 50-meter rifle three positions and a berth in the Tokyo Olympics.
Zhao Zhonghao, 23, reached the final after qualifying in the morning in three positions -- kneeling, lying and standing. In the final, Zhao Zhonghao performed well in his strengths of kneeling and horizontal shooting, holding on to his opponent and finishing second in the horizontal position. Zhao, however, made a few mistakes in the volley and finished with 445.1 points for a bronze, his first World Cup medal.
Since Russia, the runner-up, had already secured an Olympic berth, Zhao was rewarded with a berth in Tokyo.
Zhao Zhonghao said after the competition, his task is to compete for the Tokyo Olympic Games, can get a ticket for the Chinese team, he is very happy.
The women's 10m air pistol was won by South Korea's Kim Min-joong after three Chinese skaters failed to reach the final. (Hu Jianhua, Li Dongye)
