Prepare for the action part before shooting

Preparing for the Action Part

The main tasks of the preparation part: to make the attention in a highly concentrated state, to shoot an arrow or a group of arrows issued a command action signal, do all the preparation work before shooting.

"Looking at the Target (Observing one's own target)"
The basic requirements are: after the athletes enter the training or competition venue, they should first observe the target position they shoot, as well as the conditions on the venue and the surrounding environment, and prepare for the influence of objective factors such as light and wind direction.

Position Selection (Athletes choose their position on the starting beam)
The basic requirements are: each athlete should have his own fixed standing position on the beam, the ideal position is to stand on the center line of the target. However, according to the current rules of the competition, the single round of competition adopts the same target position of three athletes within the same time limit, athletes according to the order of the draw to decide the position, so there are three possibilities: center line, center line in front of the center line, behind the center line of three standing positions, so the athletes must have the ability to shoot well before, in and after.

Standing (Two-legged Stance and Torso Stance when Shooting)

(1) Side vertical
Side vertical is also called parallel type. It is the most basic standing posture in the sport of archery. The basic requirements are: two feet with the same shoulder width, standing on both sides of the rising ray, feet slightly extended, as close as possible to the center line of the target.
The side vertical adopts the basic standing posture of the human body, which is more natural, can ensure the normal functional activities of the internal organs and the working ability of the organism to maintain the time, and is not easy to produce excessive bending and twisting of the trunk. It is more appropriate for beginners and female athletes to adopt this standing posture.

(2) Exposed type
Exposed type is also known as oblique standing type. The basic requirements are: two feet stand apart on both sides of the raising ray, the toes of the two feet are connected to the center line of the target at about a 45 degree Angle, the right foot is parallel to the raising ray, and the toes are close to the center line of the target.
Such a stand should be moderately wide. This standing position has a certain effect on strengthening the muscles in the back of the drawing arm. Since the torso torsion of this standing position is larger and more muscles are involved in the work, it is necessary to keep the weight evenly on the feet, keep the knees firmly stationary, and pay attention to the initiative of pointing and exerting the bow arms.

(3) hidden type
The basic requirements are: stand on both sides of the raising ray with two feet apart. The left foot (left hand holder) is parallel to the raising ray and close to the center line of the target. The right foot is slightly backward and oblique to stand, and the center line of the target is about 70 degrees.
Hidden pose helps to strengthen the front support and compensates the body to a certain extent. When the bow is raised, the center of gravity of the human body moves to the side of the bow-holding arm. In this case, a slight right turn of the trunk (spinal rotation) will compensate for the balance of the body, reduce the burden of the sacrospinous muscles, and keep the body in the middle position, which is conducive to the play of the technique. But the downside is that it is easy to cause the shoulder of the bow-holding arm to rise, destroy the linear force of the front support, and cause the wrong action of the bowstring to hit the arm. In addition, there is a downside to this type of standing that strengthens your back muscles.

According to the rules of competition, modern archery adopts the vertical shot target, so that the center of gravity of the human body is located in the upper part of the fulcrum, which belongs to the unstable balance of the lower support. Since the stability of bipedal standing is the basis of the stability of the entire shooting technique, in order to create balance conditions and increase the stability degree, bipedal standing can be properly separated and the center of gravity of the body can be properly lowered to obtain the ideal stability Angle. Athletes may adopt different ways of standing according to their different conditions, but they should have their own fixed way of standing.
